Here is my very late May favourites and even though I’m pretty sure I’ve missed some gems out of this post, I’ve got a few bits to talk about, so let’s get into it.
My first favourite is a makeup bag from Primark. There is this thing about unicorns and mermaids that is very popular for summer and I have completely bought into it as well. I absolutely love the holographic shiny prettiness of everything and would have every accessory I own covered in the stuff if I had the chance. Just look at it! I believe it was around £4 and is absolutely massive! I mean, I jumped everything out of my old makeup bag and didn’t even fill it a ⅓ full! They do a few different versions of this and also some bags, but they’re a massive hit, so don’t stay on the shelves for very long. Another Primark hit for me have been these scrunchies. As my hair is getting longer and I’m trying to go a couple of day between washes, these have become my new best friend. I normally use invisibobble (which I still love) but these are so different and still quite gentle on the hair. LOVE.
The next thing is THE highlight palette from Sleek in Solstice and I am a bad lobby for not taking pics of the inside, but you can go check it out on Google if you like. You get one cream light champagne shade and then 3 powders in a white/yellow, light gold and a lavender. I know they sound a little out there, but they don’t really show up on the skin and your left with the most intense highlight I have ever seen! I kind of swish the 3 powder ones together and then dust it VERY lightly on the high points of my face because I’m all about that highlife. Available here for £9.99.
Eyeshadow has been my thing lately as I have been experimenting more with makeup and I needed another blending brush to add to my collection. So I ordered the Morphe Brushes E30 from Beauty Bay for £5.50 and although it’s larger than I expected it to be, it does it’s job beautifully. I use it to apply transition colour to my crease, to blend out and to pack on a base colour. If your in the market for a good blending brush, this is a good choice.
Perfume isn’t something that I claim to know a lot about. It’s a case of I know what I like and what I don’t, so this is one that I like. ALOT. It’s Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamon – different from what I normally go for as it’s a bit more of a warm spicy scent but still very feminine. One thing I’ve noticed about the Jo Malone fragrances is they don’t last a very long time – this could just be me. Other than that, this is one I have been reaching for all through May. It’s pricey at £42 for 30ml – something that I struggle with when I’m spraying around £2-£3 at a time… Available here.
My last favourite is these flowers. I know it’s a random thing to put in, but I discovered these in Tesco earlier this month and have seen them everywhere since. They’re called Sweet Williams and because i live under a rock, i had never heard of them before. Apparently they’re more suited to being a garden plant, but I’ve had them for over a week and they’re showing no signs of dying yet. They’re not too expensive either and I’m really staring to love the wild ‘just picked from the field’ kinda look. These make me smile every time I see them.
What have you been loving this month?
